Information about the Year 5 High School Experience Day
Asquith Girls High School has the pleasure of inviting your child to participate in our exciting Year 5 High School Experience Day to be held at the school on Thursday 16 November 2023.
This day will enable Year 5 students to participate in a number of inspiring and innovative activities, and experience the range of diverse and positive opportunities offered at Asquith Girls High School.
Parents/caregivers are responsible for arranging transport to and from this event. Students should arrive at the school hall at 9.00am and can be collected from the school hall at 2.30pm.
Students will be provided with lunch on this day which will include some gluten free and vegetarian options, although students with food allergies or special dietary requirements should bring their own food to ensure that their dietary needs are met. Students should also bring some food for morning tea plus a water bottle, as there will not be an opportunity to use the school canteen.
In conjunction with the engaging program being offered to Year 5 students, there will be an opportunity for parents/caregivers to take part in a tour of the school followed by morning tea with the Principal and Deputy Principals from 9.30-11.00am
Program for the Day:
9.00am Students arrive and meet in the School Hall
9.10am Principal’s Welcome
9.30am Parent/Caregiver tours begin
Students participate in activities in the hall
9.45am Students commence high school sample lessons
10.50am Recess – Students must bring their own morning tea
11.10am Student activities continue
1.15pm Lunch – Students are provided with lunch (although students with allergies and special dietary requirements should bring their own)
1.35pm Student activities continue
2.30pm Parents/Caregivers pick up students from the School Hall
Please Note:
Students are to wear their school sports uniform on the day as they may be involved in physical activities.
Footwear needs to be fully enclosed lace up sports shoes. Slip-on canvas shoes are not acceptable in practical subjects for safety reasons.
